Notification Frequency

Notifications are a great way to remember to study and stay consistent with learning Japanese, but we also understand that too many notifications and be disruptive and annoying, so Kotoba Kards allows you to tailor the frequency of notifications to what works best for you.

  • Whenever Available: If this option is selected, Kotoba Kards will send you notifications whenever one of the following occurs:
    • You have new vocabulary words available to learn
    • You have new grammar lessons available to learn
    • You have vocabulary words available for review
    • You have grammar lessons available for review
  • Once a Day: If this option is selected, Kotoba Kards will send you a maximum of one notification a day with a summary of what’s available.

Send Time(s)

Study reminders are most helpful if you get them at a time when you’re in a position to actually stop and study! 

Once A Day - Notification Time

If you have your notification frequency set to “Once a Day,” you can choose what time during the day when you’ll receive this notification, so you can pick a time that works best for you to get reminded to study.

Whenever Available - Allowed Times

If you have your notification frequency set to “Whenever Available,” you can specify your allowed send times. Kotoba Kards will only send you notifications during this timeframe so that you aren’t getting them during inconvenient times (such as when you’re sleeping or at work).
